This piece features the bass playing the melody in more of a rock/metal style. When I recorded this song I pumped the bass through an old Leslie cabinet right to the point of distortion to get a "lead" sound. Live, I use a combination of distortionm, delay and chorus. I turn off the distortion when the bass plays the "popping" line that leads into the refrain. As with all the pieces on my third album, The Urge, this song should be played with a great deal of agression. This piece asks the poignant musical question: "Where will you be when the hammer comes down?" Notes by Stu Hamm....
